  1. An interesting article, Mary. Thanks for sharing this. I remember reading an article in Time magazine some years ago which said something similar about the effects of addiction-on the brain ie the neural pathways in the brain are physically altered by addiction. I found it helpful to understand why it might be difficult for someone to give up smoking as a consequence of this. However, it remains an open question whether greater knowledge necessarily affects one’s personal behaviour!
